Nokpokliba

Nokpokliba is a film adaptation of a folktale from Nagaland, a tribal state in the north-east of India, based on the book “The Ao Nagas” by J.P. Mills.

Nopokliba is a seer magician with awesome powers, who comes to the rescue of his people from the rogue that attempts to swindle them. This film was a way for me to contribute to the preservation of the Naga oral tradition and cultural worldview, in which I have my roots.

2007. Won the 54th National Film Awards for Best Animation and Direction. The film was sponsored by the Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

2007. Received the “Golden Peacock” Award at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa.

Aok and Aie

2004. Official Selection Zagreb Animation film festival, Croatia.

While they sleep

My first film project, While they sleep, emerged out of my curiosity about the Easter Island Rocks in the Pacific. This film was an attempt to bring to life the ancient rock figures through the medium of animation. While they sleep takes you through a magical journey where the whole island comes to life at night.
